Getting the scoop on me and mine

Hi,

This is my first post on this site, but if you followed me on my  other site, you already know some things about me.   For those of you who did not follow on the previous site, I will tell you that I have just moved this site from Blogger to Word Press because it was suggested to me by someone that I have come to admire greatly,  that this would be a better place to have my blog.

I usually write posts on Tuesday and Friday, but of course I will not be writing next Friday as it is Christmas Day.

For this Friday’s post I wanted to just touch on my life a little bit, I am married to a wonderful man who was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer this year, he has had the surgery but unfortunately they did not get it all.  So, we will be sitting on pins and needles every three months for a while until we find out how quickly it will grow.  This unexpected set back has caused us to really connect more, we take each day and make the most of it, we laugh every day and spend most of his leisure time together.  And no, we do not get sick of each other, even though we spend most of our time together, it is not glued to each other’s hip.  We may be in the same house, but not always in the same room.

I have two kids, a 22 year old son and a 21 year old daughter.  My son works as a cook in a pub and gets about five shifts a week.  He has a girlfriend, that he has been seeing for 3 years  that lives in Portland, Oregon, who he sees about every 6 weeks.  Either he is going down there for a while or she is coming up here.  They have both researched what it would take to move to the other country but neither of them are really ready to take that big a step.

My daughter on the other hand, is a go getter, she started with a company right out of school and she has been with them ever since.  This past summer she applied for and got a new position within the company that was definitely a step up.  She has her eyes firmly set on the future, she has already purchased a brand new car and is busy saving for a house.  She figures it will be approximately four years before she has the funds where she would like them in order to put a down payment on a new home.  She has no interest in hooking up with anyone at this time, she tells me that she does not want to have to consult with anyone before she decides what she wants to do.

I am also Mum to a 10 1/2 month old Daschund puppy named Willie.  He is a spoiled rotten little terror who is the joy in both my husband and my life.  He makes us laugh constantly and we are so much in love with him that he gets away with things he shouldn’t.  We decided early that we would not be feeding him stuff from cans, so we cook for him every day.  He certainly enjoys his food and we may have to think about cutting back a bit as I think he might be putting too much weight on.

Well, I have gone on and on haven’t I?  I hope I haven’t bored you too much and that you will check back to see whether or not this will get any better.  I have discovered that I love to write, so I will be keeping up with it.

Please feel free to leave a comment, I would appreciate hearing all the good and the bad.

Take care for now and I will talk to you on Tuesday,
